Hi, I’m Kristin!

I’m a designer with a blended background: I get analytical skills from my cognitive science studies, creativity from my visual design background, and scrappiness and problem solving from playing basketball.

As a former collegiate student-athlete, I transfer basketball principles off the court through my resilience, effective communication, adaptability, and team-oriented values. As a point guard, I was taught to ask myself, “how can I best set up my teammate for success?” Along with my professional background in graphic design, I’m a creative problem-solver who tackles challenges through human-centered design, providing empathy to best set users up for success.

A little bit more about me:

When I’m not designing, I can be found spending time with family, friends, and my dogs. In college, I made the impromptu decision to adopt a dog from the local shelter. She’s now living her best (and spoiled) life with our 2 golden doodles. I love to cook and bake. My favorite cuisines to cook are Japanese and Hawaiian. My go-to recipes are Misoyaki Butterfish and Mongolian-Glazed Short Ribs.

I love to travel. I’ve been to 5 continents, and my goal is to make it to all 7. Some of my favorite places include: Japan, Hawai’i, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. In getting the opportunity travel around the world and witness different cultures, I’ve unknowingly developed a few core skills of UX Design - the ability to understand and empathize with people of diverse backgrounds, being flexible and open-minded in new situations, communicating creatively to people of different backgrounds, and learning to always be curious and inquisitive.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions about my portfolio or work experience, or just reach out to say hello!
